EASTWESTFOOD is a project funded by the EU International Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) under the Marie Curie programme. It is a collaboration between FOOD Denmark, VLAG at Wageningen University along with the Indian universities Anna University and Banaras Hindu University. The project started May 2010.
The aim of the project is that the exchange of researchers and PhD students within four different subjects should lead to an increased degree of collaboration between European and Indian resarchers.
The four work packages are:
- Healthy Diets in East and West
- Dairy Technology
- Metabolic Engineering
- Business Economics and Entrepreneurship
The EU funding for EASTWESTFOOD is 970,000 DKK, but additional funding has been secured for the project in Denmark and the Netherlands. The total funding is 1,515,000 DKK (Spring, 2012).
EASTWESTFOOD management is taken care of by the FOOD Denmark Research School. Coordinator is Professor Richard Ipsen, Department of Food Science at the University of Copenhagen.
